Are you technically skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced with heavy machinery? We are looking for a Heavy Equipment & Furnace Maintenance Operator to join the Furnace Service team at Tata Steel in IJmuiden, Netherlands.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a unique heavy-industrial environment, where you will combine technical maintenance, refractory work, and heavy-equipment operation.
📍 Location: IJmuiden, Netherlands
💶 Salary: €20.83–€21.73 gross/hour, depending on experience
💰 Approx. €493–€512 NET/week
⏱️ 40 hours/week – Day shift
💳 Salary payment: Weekly
🗣️ English: Minimum B1 level

🏭 YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will support the continuous operation and maintenance of the blast furnaces and refractory trough systems used during the production process.
- Prepare and perform maintenance according to technical documentation
- Troubleshoot technical malfunctions together with the shift team
- Perform precise demolition work using a large excavator
- Build formwork and cast, maintain and repair hot metal troughs
- Operate excavators, forklifts and a small wheel loader
- Work with refractory materials in a heavy-industrial environment
- Participate in daily safety and technical briefings
- Ensure all activities meet strict safety and quality standards
🎯 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum MBO-2 technical diploma or equivalent technical qualification
- Technical, practical and hands-on working attitude
- Experience with excavators, forklifts and/or wheel loaders is a strong advantage
- Safety-conscious and responsible approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in standby/on-call duty approximately once every 6 weeks
- VCA Basic certificate required for payroll employees
- English language skills of at least B1 level

- 🚘 Own car: Travel allowance may be available, usually around €0.23/km, depending on the client
- 👥 Additional gross daily allowance may apply when transporting colleagues
- 💰 First salary: End of the second working week
